Smelling of boysenberry and briar patch drizzled with balsamic, this wine has a forward, hearty nose. The richly fruited, full-bodied palate shows off lushly ripe tannins followed by slight amaro-like acidity on the back palate. The somewhat thick, mouthcoating texture lingers on the palate as the wine’s moderate, licorice- and mineral-laced flavors recede. This will appeal to hedonists and it drinks nicely on its own.
