Smelling of warm earth, old leather and generously ripe berries, this wine’s bouquet will seduce lovers of aged Shiraz. The nose evolves quickly to show a compelling combination of eucalyptus and aloe. The palate turns to the dark side, developing deeply meaty, earthy tones. The tannins are broad and strapping but well-proportioned to the full body. Moreover, the chiseled acidity nicely meshes with the firm tannins, accenting but not overly emphasizing them. The sultry, earthy finish is very food friendly. Drink now–2022.
