This wine’s dark core shows maroon hues at the edge of the glass. The fruit is restrained on the nose, where minerals and potting soil notes dominate. There is no obvious new oak on the palate. The body is full, but the extraction is moderate. The tannins are faintly tugging and the acidity refreshes the palate. The finish is medium-minus, but the drinkability is very good. Drink now—2014.
