Reluctant on the nose, this darkly colored wine smells of cedar and tar. The palate mirrors this and feels unrelenting in structure. The rigid tannins and bright acidity ignite the flavors on the midpalate and, coupled with vibrant concentration, extend into the finish that brings on a delightful forest floor quality. Surprisingly dynamic, this is a very good example of a Cabernet-led blend. The robust and concentrated flavors of blackberries and black plums will allow this wine to hold nicely. Drink now–2021.
