Deep garnet core with wide, crimson halo. The fruit on the nose is reticent and comprised mostly of black currants and black plums with spruce, graphite and crushed leaves in the background. The burst of acidity on the palate makes this a lively wine and is the focal point of its structure. A faint brush of glycerol crosses the midpalate. The tannins are fairly light but rather choppy in texture, likely contributing to the somewhat short finish. Drink in its youth, now to 2014.
