Black at the core almost to the magenta rim, this wine smells of licorice and menthol. The full-bodied palate offers good fruit intensity yet modest complexity. Nicely structured by lilting acidity and firm but finessed tannins, the finish emphasizes flavors of sweet black plum, blackberry and sloe. Charming now, this nicely integrated wine should hold well for several years. Drink now–2022.
