This wine is a bit reticent on the nose, showing an equal split of underbrush and ripe blackfruit aromas. The big, bold and glossy palate exhibits lots of appealing fresh fruit character. There’s plenty of acidic zip and just enough tight tannins to keep the full body in check. The splashy oak character offers complexity through its veins of savory spice, toast and caramel. This is a well-made wine that offers broad appeal with its even-keel structure and supple fruit. Drink now–2023.
