Black color with deep raspberry inflections. Subdued fruit with heavy blueberry influences on a blackberry core. High tones of fresh sage accent the nose with base notes of damp earth. The attack and body show significant weight on the palate, reinforced by the high, but balanced, alcohol of this cuvée. Grippy and slightly coarse tannins hit the palate first followed by medium, supporting acidity. The lightly lingering finish echoes the flavors found on the palate. May evolve further drink now to 2018.
