A mere shadow away from opaque black, this wine has a surprisingly sappy and fruit-driven nose of sun-warmed black plum and cassis, with the barest suggestions of freshly turned earth. The palate is robust and almost hulking, with rounded tannins that result in a drying finish. Drink now–2020.
