Opaque almost to the near-neon magenta rim, this wine is vividly youthful on the nose. Unusually, it smells more open than its palate tastes. It’s a bruiser in hulking fruit flavors of dark and densely ripe plums and berries. There’s little structure to support this full-bodied wine, the acidity is lenient and the tannins are subdued. The impact is all upfront as the finish dies off quickly. Drink now–2020.
