This deeply sultry wine smells of fig compote, prune and roasted walnuts. The supercharged palate shows alcoholic octane and fervent acidity yet surprisingly tender tannins. More savory elements enter on the palate with tones of wet gravel and slate. With air, this wine finally fleshes out on the palate and unfurls fresher black fruit flavors. This would work well with cassoulet or confit duck. Drink now–2022.
