This deeply-colored wine with vaguely rusty tones has expansive aromas of barbecue spices, blueberries, red cherries and a touch of toast. With air, leather shows up as well. The palate is surprisingly brisk and verging on aggressive from chirpy acidity and splintery tannins. Though flavorful on the medium finish, it is definitely disjointed and likely won’t become more harmonious given the lean and modestly concentrated finish. Drink now.
