This is a brooding wine that is more forthcoming with non-fruit aromas. The palate reveals strong black currant and damp soil tones, followed by cracked black peppercorns on the medium finish. Thanks to its bracing acidity and chewy tannins, it’s one for a table set with hearty fare, preferably after decanting. Drink now–2023.
