This charismatic, pitch-dark wine has a high-wattage nose. The beautifully ripe, fleshy blueberries and black currants mingle with pencil ss, incense and mirin with strains of Dr. Pepper. It’s a fascinating wine that will unfold nicely in the bottle, though it is a pleasure to sip now with its smart balance of sassy acidity and leathery tannins that nicely support the medium-bodied palate.
