Blackout dark across the glass, this wine has a miniscule, black cherry-fleshed rim. The nose is dense, unyielding and seems to need time to air out. The palate is in total contrast to the wine’s aromas, a knockout of flavor and power riddled with black currant, black raisin, glazed fig and a hint of top-notch balsamic vinegar. Full bodied, highly extracted and viscous, there’s nonetheless a solid and racy backbone to make this work for bold-wine lovers. Drink now–2020.
