Modest aromas of black and red cherry, roasted coffee and wet tobacco leaves are somewhat intriguing on this red made from the obscure Prieto Picudo grape. Well-developed blackberry and cherry flavors are enhanced by lacings of smoky oak and leather on the palate. Not an overly complex wine, there is a nice balance between the medium acidity and firm tannins.
