Completely saturated black core with vibrant crimson rim. Petulant nose holds back on the black fruit character in favor of creosote, tar and cigar wrapper notes. A hint of cinnamon peeks through. Chewy tannins and marked acidity frame the palate. Blackberry preserves and withering black plums make a delicious combo on the palate and produce a solidly medium finish. Evergreen notes surface as the wine fades. Drink now to 2017 with some beneficial development.
