Black-inflected, opaque core with a deep fuschia rim. Sultry, expressive nose of slate, flint, leather, roasted pheasant and peak-of-summer Black Mission figs. The palate exudes minerality and blackberry flavors. Long-grained, lightly drying tannins mark the succulent texture that shows a glycerol-like streak. Bracing acidity calls for food accompaniment and the wine finishes very dry, though quite short. Drink now to 2015 not likely to evolve.
