Opaque black with deep yet slender mulberry rim. Forward aromas of pencil lead, wet sod and wild forest berries with sweet lavender inflections. Bracing palate—despite the high alcohol and lightly succulent palate—with firm yet smooth tannins and refreshing acidity. Medium finish. Vanilla bean notes of new oak are well integrated and will surely blend in more over the next year. Drink now to 2017 but there is no need to wait.
