The color of eggplant at the core, this wine’s explosive nose offers baking spice, licorice, maple syrup and black cherries. The palate is as opulent in sweet flavors as the nose suggests, and tastes full thanks to its mouthcoating gylcerol. Somewhat choppy and astringent tannins pair with lifting acidity to clean up the palate on the medium-length finish. Though the fruit is clean, the palate feels rustic. Drink now–2018.
