This dark, crimson-colored wine doesn’t show much fruit on the nose, but it does offer plenty of iron and raw meat character. The wine starts soft on the palate, with glossy, gossamer tannins. But, it sharply turns mouthwateringly acidic to such an extreme degree that the palate feels moisture-wicked. Tastes of red cherries, red currants and tart raspberries fill the mouth and lead to a lingering finish. A food wine for certain, this youthful wine’s moderate complexity should unfold nicely if its structure doesn’t take over too quickly. Drink now– 2020.
