The color of lemon pulp, this wine is more neutral than even faintly aromatic, as Chardonnay is prone to be. The fruit concentration is modest, leaning to dilute, but the winemaker coaxes some excitement into the cuvée. Yeast, hay, lemon juice and bread dough notes appear on the nose; the same transform into flavors on the palate. The borderline-medium acidity contributes adequate support to the full body. The finish evaporates quickly but a sensation of fine grains of sand remains momentarily. Drink now to 2014; probably will not evolve further.
