Midnight black at the core with a dark maroon rim, this wine’s nose has appealing freshness and initial aromas of black cherries, plum skin and cola. Subtle oak influences of sweet spices and coffee grinds are woven into the generously ripe fruit. Though full bodied, it has good structural scaffolding. Mild tannins on the attack gently clench the palate while sensuously integrated acidity caresses the back palate then makes a perkier appearance on the medium-length finish. A very good by-the-glass wine, this is full of class, style and balance. Drink now through 2019.
