This wine is midnight black at the core and has a small maroon rim. Reserved on the nose with significant earthiness, the fruit nuances of black plum, sloe and roasted fig only appear on the palate. The attack is quite soft, with relaxed acidity and lightly stringy tannins that offer some structure. The fruit is fine if not particularly fresh. This, coupled with the moderate finish, suggests the wine is a short-term drinker. It would be solid choice for a casual barbecue.
