Tres Pilares 2015   Verdejo (Rueda)

abv: 13,5% | Price Tier: $

Fairly sulphury on the nose, this wine smells of cantaloupe and white cherries. The attack is dry but the palate is expansive and mouthcoating, with loads of spiciness, Bay leaves and ginger. The lingering finish offers notes of lemon pie filling, chamomile and fresh-stemmed herbs. Gentle and integrated acidity makes this a good drinking wine, and its solid concentration should give it some medium-term staying power despite its immediate appeal. This Rueda punches above its weight drink now through 2019.
