This wine is black at the core with a miniscule raspberry rim. Its aromas are brooding, with graphite, blackcurrant, peat and pipe tobacco. The palate is highly ripe in fruit flavors and advanced, too, but there’s ample acidic backbone and pleasantly strapping tannins to keep the full body properly aligned. With a bit more fruit freshness, this hearty and lingering wine could really be a stand out. Drink now.
