Once swirled, this wine’s deeply colored legs fall quickly. On the palate, the wine shows a moderate amount of glycerol, which makes for a broad and silky—but not unctuous—palate. Adequate acidity and low-intensity but drying tannins balance the wine. Charred meat, black olives and black plum coulis focus the palate, where oak shows up in the form of slightly sweet, crusty semolina and raisin bread. Moderate finish. Drink now to 2015.
