This fiercely dark and slightly cloudy wine is hiding its aromas for the time being. Round and juicy on the attack, this wine has generous ripeness, noticeable weight and elevated, but well-managed, alcohol. The significant finish turns pleasantly firm thanks to dusty tannins. There’s no obvious new oak here, and it’s a finely crafted bottling. Suitable for bottle service, this aims to please and definitely delivers. This should drink well through 2018.
