Fully flushed black-plum color with a purple meniscus. Vanilla, French toast, mocha and sweet spice dominate the nose. Black plum and blueberry fruits surface in the background; the fruits take on a preserved, jammy character on the palate, where they take a backseat to the roasted pecan and caramel oak notes. Bright acidity and lightly grainy tannins keep the moderate viscosity and obvious alcohol in line. Drink now–2014.
