Black from the core almost to the rim, this Syrah-Mourvèdre blend is definitively pure and impressively youthful. There is a mass of flavor, from mounds of licorice to a hint of savory peppery spice as well as wet rocks and warm asphalt. The polished midpalate has a pleasing generosity of full-bodied density, with velvety tannins and moderate but perfectly supporting acidity. This is approachable now, but is so youthful and layered that is can hold its own easily through 2019.
