Medium-deep ruby red, this wine has a rusty tinge through its core right to its pale strawberry-colored rim. The nose is timid but shows some Bordelais pedigree in its hints of mineral and tobacco leaf. Its flavors show a mix of black and red berries, tomatoes and dusty earth. The moderately demanding tannins are drying but not overly rough. However, the acidity verges on aggressive. While there’s a good typicity of flavors leading into a moderate finish, this wine is aging quickly. Drink now through 2016.
