This wine is a dark black-cherry color, with crimson influences. The reserved nose shows hot tar, baking spice and dried mulberry. Each of these elements is echoed on the palate. Round and moderately generous, the flavors include intense spice notes alongside black currant leaf and gobs of damp earth. Weighty on the palate, with a generous fruitiness, it has good nuance but only a moderate finish. As it is starting to show nuances of evolution, it is time to drink up, now through mid-2016.
