Deep yellow in color, with gleaming reflections, this wine smells of straw, lemon zest, herbs and smoke. The sultry palate has smoky notes and buttery tones along with ripe tree fruits. Both the aromas and the flavors are beginning to fade, but there’s just enough hanging on to keep it drinkable now. Richly textured on the palate, it’s full bodied and generous in alcohol, but it is balanced by supporting acidity. It works as either a food or a sipping wine drink through 2015.
