This impenetrable wine has a core akin to a black hole. It bleeds to a bright and deep ruby rim. Its nose is unusually fragrant, showing potpourri, marzipan and ripe blueberry. Soft on the attack, the palate is silky and smooth, with seamlessly integrated, if bustling, acidity and fine tannins. Though seemingly medium in body, the alcohol is marginally pronounced. The finish is quick, but the wine’s mass of flavor and fragrance fully deliver. Drink now through 2016.
